Valuable domain names; very good prices

I've updated all prices of my domain names. if you check my domains at www.sedo.com, you'll see the great opportunity to purchase great domains at a good price (some of them can be purchased for 190€...) Go ahead, check them, you'll see...

Besides, there are domains that actually make good money. This is curious, because some of them, without any effort, make more money than some blog of mine.

But I think that the real fate of a domain name is to be sold and serve as a platform for an online business. There are some domains that I'm keeping for myself, so these _only a few_ have a price higher than the others, which are really cheap. But, please, don't be fooled. Among my domains there are very good ones, as you can see in other posts.

As I've said, there are some domains, three or four, that I'm keeping for myself if I don't sell them at a resonable price. Such is the case with www.celebsia.com; actually, I have now a blog with this name: celebsia.blogspot.com. This is the same case with www.mapsia.com, because I own this blog... which is called, you already know, mapsia.blogspot.com

Powerful Microsites = Simplicity

Two years ago I was very interested in microsites. I found some interesting articles about the effectiveness of building small, easy to maintain websites.

But then, when I thought of building my own sites, I don’t know why, but I forgot this idea of microsites and I don’t implemented things in accordance with it. I built two (relatively) large websites, only to find later that a large site is difficult to manage and we can lose focus very easily.

Today I would do things differently. Today, according to my experience, I’d pay much more attention to this powerful concept: microsites. These microsites convey the idea of simplification; each one of them can focus on a specific subject and nothing more. Just as a magnifying glass gathering the rays of the sun and, concentrating them in one point, can make a hole in a paper. Simplicity and focus have always been the best ways to achieve success in any area.

I’ve learned that, surprisingly, can be much more easy to run and maintain ten powerful microsites than two large websites. The microsites will always have much more flexibility, you will never have a monstrous superwebsite where thinking in making simple changes can even be a challenge. And you always will have the possibility of interconnecting these microsites if appropiate, after all the very essence of the net are links.

And best of all, if you want to monetize your microsites, it will be relatively easy, because their content can easily match the criteria of advertisers, they can serve you targeted ads to your targeted microsites. These ads surely will be helpful and appropriate to your targeted audience, your readers won’t be absolutely reluctant to click on them. So, you can present your offer to advertisers, readers, search engines, directories, and they’ll grasp your message, your “proposition” at once. You, your “voice”, won’t confuse anybody.

So, if I started today, I would look for a very good hosting with the possibility of creating unlimited websites. Then I’d build ten, twelve microsites, each one of them focusing on a specific subject, always thinking of being of use both to users and advertisers.

But first of all, I would choose the best domain names available to my venture. I’ve many valuable domains on sale, but still I’m keeping some of them. Who knows?

Here is a domain of mine which is as clear as water. One activity, and an important one, and one country, and an important one again...

There are some cases, speaking of domain names, where hyphens are even useful and positive, they make clear for all (and also for search engines) the concrete activities in which a website or blog can offer service or expertise.

Yes, I know, in some cases, hyphens are not so positive, they may introduce perhaps a little difficulty to type a concrete name. But, honestly, I think there are many exceptions to that.

And sincerely, I think in many cases it is a much better name for a business a meaningful domain name than, for example... www.wqxy.com, very short but meaningless (both for people and search engines). Yes, the latter can work well in the long run with a lot of effort, money and branding. But a good domain name always simplify things.

In the next days, I'll park this domain at www.sedo.com, so it will be available for anyone interested in it.

Domain names: a very precious asset

I'm fully convinced: a good domain name has a great real value. Yes, it has tremendous value and potentialities, especially for people who are interested in keeping it, in working on it.

What's the most important asset of Coca-Cola, McDonald's..? Some people perhaps would desagree, bud I'd say it is... their names, their brands. This brand summarizes the prestige of any company, the quality of its services, its whole history. It is a SYMBOL and indeed the basic foundation upon all the rest is built.

It is the same with people. I think one of the most important assets of any person is... a good name (in a moral sense, I mean), a symbol again. We can think of this "name": Thomas Alva Edison. Only some "letters", but they summarize all the glory of a man, all his achievements, all his struggles to succeed regardless of any problem or barrier.

I you own a great name, a successful brand, or you have a good domain name for your business in a profitable niche, if you are willing to permanently promote that name with your courage and honest work, then your are on your way to success, I think.

A good domain name can also be seen as a brand on the Internet, it is a brand indeed. If you have a great domain name, regardless of the extension, if you are happy with it, if it can summarize the spirit of your venture or project, if it can define where you are focusing your interest, then you have a very precious asset, even more solid than a beautiful house or an expensive car.

McDonald's, Microsoft, Coca-Cola... Just names, intangible resources. But, what a names!

I came across this domain name by chance.

It may appear at first glance a bit frivolous, but I think there is nothing wrong with it. In reality, it is very beautiful and elegant. Most of us are not boys anymore, but usually boys dream with this "dream girl", and girls do te same thing with an ideal "dream boy". That's natural.

All of us have dreams, ideal concepts. It's not always good to idealize too much. But please, boys and girls (and even all of us) have perfect right to let to fly their imagination, sometimes, and fantasize a little with "ideal" models, without confusing reality and fantasy.

For example, I'm not a boy either, but some years ago when I saw for the first time Christina Aguilera in her first video, I loved her art, refinement and elegance. I will never meet her. So, she can be my "edreamgirl".

www.edreamgirl.com I think it is a great name, a beautiful one, which can't offend anyone.

Real value in domain names

I think in many areas of life there are misunderstandings.

For example, one could think that people who buy and sell domains do that only for speculative motives. But that is, at least in my case, only a part of reality.

I would like to choose names that can provide real value for the buyer, that he can be fully satisfied with his investment. If you read my list of domains, you even can see an entire business "under" (or "inside") each domain name. There are clear and valuable keywords, coherently mixed, keywords that can help describe a whole project, and at the same time my names are, very clearly, search engines friendly.

If a buyer wisely chooses a domain name, he can have a moneymaking machine. For example, creating an interesting (and useful) directory or service based upon the keywords of the domain name, he can easily get plenty of ads and consequently, getting traffic, a lot of money.

I would like to do that if I could afford it. That's really where the money is. But I can't afford it by now, I don't have the necessary time and capital for doing this. But I would not sell my domains if I could implement that. I would like to create services and directories, I would like to offer a service, and having sufficient ads, then I would make real money. And that would not be so difficult with, as I've said before, both money and energy.

But to do that it's important to build upon solid foundations and to have at hand the best pieces of land available: the proper domain names, the "keywords" that search engines are searching for. Do you agree with what I'm saying?

In this case you could have a REAL business for all your life, a moneymaking machine. This is not like selling very valuable domains. You could even think that you have made a lot of money. But you have already sold your domain with all its potentialities. Your business is out. Instead, he who has acquired that valuable domain, if he acts intellently, can run a prosperous business for all his life.

I own this new domain, greatshopping.eu. And I really think is a good possession.

You can introduce "great shopping" in any search engine and you'll be amazed at the numbers that appear... No doubt, the word "shopping" is known everywhere, even in countries where English is not the main language. And the same thing can be said of "shopping" as an activity that implies a playful attitude, not just simply buying things or products.

In Europe, for example, this "shopping", both the word and the activity, has been widely assimilated.

greatshopping says all... Shopping must be a pleasurable experience, a GREAT experience; put simply : GREAT SHOPPING. All really successful shops want their clients to have this positive experience. Success only can be bild if customers have this inner satisfaction, joyfully shopping great products at a reasonable price.

And I'm satisfied as well owning this domain, greatshopping.eu... The com, net, org... extensions naturally have been taken long time ago.

The value of domains like this will increase spectacularly in the future. It could be build a magnificent e-shop, a very profitable one, with such a sound foundations.

Darren Rowse is a very successful blogger. He is the owner of www.problogger.net.

Some years ago he wanted to create a blog about how to make money online. So, the first thing he did was to choose a name for his project. The most suitable one was also the most natural, the most obvious, the most simple : problogger. He wanted to be specifically a “problogger”.

But problogger.com had already been taken. So, what to do? Happily the net extension was not taken. He bought it.

A good decision. www.problogger.net is now a well known name online, and one of the very best blogs about making money blogging.

Now Rowse is a rich person (after a lot of hard and intelligent work) and at last has been feasible for him to buy the domain name problogger.com.

But, even without doing this, his venture would be immensely successful the same.

The point. If a specific name is perfect for your project but the “com” extension has already been taken, the “net” extension is still a fabulous option.

You don’t have to choose a fancy name, or a name that you dislike, if you can find a very good “net” extension. And, in some cases, even an “org” or other extensions can work very well.

If you like a fancy name anyway, go for it, with hard work it can be made marketable and successful as well. If you can find the “com” extension, perfect. If not, go for the “net” extension. No problem. Your “net” name can be as valuable as the “com” extension for your project, although in the “domain market” the “com” is the king. But outside of this market, the “net” can work perfectly for your venture or passion.

And don’t worry, you won’t lose any traffic for having a “net” or “org” name for your site or blog. This is simply a false myth. You can lose a lot of traffic if you have a name that is really difficult to remember or to write, regardless of the extension.

Anyway, it would be a good thing if your e-name reflect in some way what your blog or website is about, if contain some keyword that you want to promote and concentrate upon.

I've just purchased a new domain. And I must say: I'm happy with it. You know the feeling, when you go to walk for a while in the country and you find some beautiful and unexpected spot, full of peace and beauty... That's what you were searching for!
